Blueridge Vista Pumi Kennel is located in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Northern Greenville County, SC - just south of Asheville, NC and west of Charlotte, NC.
The view above, of the Blue Ridge Mountains, a few minutes from our home, was the inspiration for our kennel name.
Our Kennel is located on our 20 acre horse farm, which is also home to On The Top Obedience and Agility School, owned and operated by us, Nancy & Meir Ben-Dror. We share our home with three English Cocker Spaniels, six Pumik (plural of Pumi in Hungarian) and a Canaan Dog. Although the dogs had or presently have show and performance careers in conformation, herding, agility, obedience and rally, they are pets first and foremost. They always have a home with us. We have one senior horse enjoying his retirement.
Over the last 30 + years we have put numerous titles on several breeds and mixed breeds, in UKC, AKC , USDAA, NADAC, AMBOR & Mixed Breed Dog Clubs of America. Several of Pumik are among the very few Pumik who have earned a UKC Championship. They were also among the first Pumik to earn AKC’s Certificate of Merit.
Meir is of Hungarian descent, so we have been interested in the Pumi for some time. We imported our first Pumi, Bohemia Vivace Ash (Asztró) from the Czech Republic, in 2009, and after showing him in Europe, and much research, came home with our girl, Cseri-Subás Édes (Szikra) from Hungary, to start our Pumi kennel. We had never considered breeding ourselves, but we became so enamored of Asztró, with his wonderful work ethic, trainability and cuddliness, that we decided we should share our joy with others. Asztró and Szikra are a great combination of bloodlines, conformation, performance and loving house pets, who should produce great puppies. We had our first Pumi litter on July 26, 2011!
We are members of the Blue Ridge Agility Club, where Nancy was past Vice-President and Secretary. We are members of the Spartanburg Kennel Club, The Canaan Dog Club of America, The Hungarian Pumi Club of America, where Meir is presently member of the Board and the Herding Committee.
